Need to clean your Tuckered Out dog bed? No problem - these dog beds were designed to be washed again and again. You can wash the entire bed, cover and inner-pillows:
For quick washes (covers only):
For deeper cleanings, you may wash the entire bed. Since every washer and dryer are different, we recommend different strategies to different people. If you have a machine that is known to be tough on clothing (catching or tearing fabric), then we suggest you leave the insert pillow in its cover during the wash. However, if your washer machine is a front loading machine with a gentle history, then you may separate the pillow insert from the cover, inspect inserts, and wash all parts:

Tuckered out dog bed
My dog likes this bed so much he no longer wants to sleep in my bed.
Tuckered Out Dog Bed
Both my Belgian Malinois and my cat love the dog bed. In fact, they loved the first bed so much that I bought a second one, and now there is a dog bed in both the bedroom and my living room. I am delighted with the purchase. It is infinitely superior to the big box store dog beds, and I am very pleased.
Great Bed
Our 75# black lab mix LOVES his bed! Holds up well with washing. Purchased last year. Highly recommend. MADE IN USA!! ALL GOOD!
Excellent...for a year
This bed is very high quality. I bought the XL for my now-70 pound lab retriever when she was a pup. I have washed the cover about ten times and it has held up very nicely. However, the inner stuffing is now flat as a pancake. I have never washed the inner stuffing and my dog is very gentle on it. I have tried hand fluffing it but it doesn't decompress. I'll have to buy a new insert or a new bed soon. :/
Tuckered Out Dog Bed
Both of our yellow labs love the bed; as soon as we get the Christmas bills behind us, will buy a smaller one for the puppy.
Fabulous and Worth It
I have had this bed for two years now and it is holding up beautifully and has maintained it's loft. We keep it in our living room where it gets constant attention from our three pugs. Our one girl has partially paralyzed back legs and can get into this bed with ease making it a favorite of hers. I have never washed the inner cushion but have washed the outer cover frequently and it still looks great. I do line the bed with pee pads between the cushion and covering. This has kept the cushion in good condition(our girl with paralysis has bladder control issues). Take care of your bed and it will provide your doggie with years of comfort. It is worth the price and I am happy to support such a quality product made in the states.
tuckered out dog bed
A very comfortable bed for great and large Dogs.
Tuckered out
It is so hard to watch the slowing of an elderly pet and wish you could make things a bit easier for them. We have a most beloved thirteen year old who visibly slows daily. We got the Tuckered because it looked like we could drag it around so that she could be off the floor and with us in every room as she always has. When we opened the box she climbed right on and went sound asleep in the middle of the dining room floor. Success!!! Thanks a million.
Bed Loved By All!
We are fostering a pit bull mix for our animal shelter, and we bought the Tuckered Out for him. Well, not only does he love his bed, but our two Rat Terrier mixes do too, and I often find the littlest dog nestled right in the middle! I'd call that a ringing endorsement.
Great for an elderly dog
This bed has been a real blessing for my elderly dog. She has weak back legs now so can no longer get out of her donut style bed but can easily get on/off the tuckered out bed. She also seems to be very comfortable on it. We have to work to keep the younger dogs off it! It is a bit pricey but has been well worth it for the comfort it has given her. I will be buying a larger one for my other dogs at some point in the future.
Great bed to get your dog out of YOUR bed!
Let me start by saying that I have a dog who was intent on sleeping on my bed with me. This bed gave her the comfort and security she needed. As soon as she went up on the bed, she snuggled into the little nook and settled in. When she's exhausted after a long day, the bed is also wide enough for her to sprawl out on her side. Having the zippered machine washable cover is a bonus! After two years, this bed is still holding up!
Wonderful dog bed!
This is a great bed! It took my dog about 2 minutes to figure out that she liked the bed, curl up and take a nap. Now, if I can't find her, I go look in her bed and there she is. I'm planning on buying another one. I love the fact that these are made in the USA as well. One caveat: I haven't washed the cover yet, so I don't know how it holds up in the washer.
The perfect balance between snuggly and structured
Our 65-lb Standard Poodle adores his Tuckered Out Bed. The bolster edge offers just enough support without confining him, and the cushion is just right -- cozy but not too fluffy. He has enough room to stretch out or to curl up in different positions to relax or nap. Cover is easy to machine wash/dry and has helpful instructions for re-inserting the pillow afterwards. Great product!
Flattened fill
I want to give this bed 5 stars because my dog loves it so much. He's a 12 lb dachshund and this was the only bed I could find that fit his little wire kennel perfectly and was long enough for him. He loves the material and it finally calmed him down at night and was the first bed he didn't try to destroy (we tried several). But I kind of also want to give it 1 star because for the price, I would have expected the filler to have last much, much longer. We've had the bed for almost a year now, and I'm finally going to pay for a new one, but have needed to do this for probably 6 months. This hurts given the price of not only the original bed, but also the replacement fill. I washed the fill insert once or twice, gently by hand as instructed (which is a pretty big hassle to begin with). And still it didn't last. I wouldn't mind so much if I could get a new insert for like 10 bucks with shipping included, but it will be much more than that...
New colors pretty please
We have about 4 of these beds floating around the house and car. They are a favorite with our little guys. I'm sure the dogs don't care, but us humans sure would like to see some new colors, just to freshen things up around here. Thank you for considering all our suggestions, West Paw! And please, no matter what complaints you receive about this bed.....please, please don't ever stop making it. I don't think my little ones could survive without it, at least not happily. Thank You
Me
I purchased this bed for my dog and she loves it. As I wash the cover it keeps getting flatter. Last time I washed it I noticed that the inner lining has wholes in it. I am not ver happy that I have a dog bed that cost this much money and it is falling apart. I don't even have it a year. My friends buy their dog bed in Costco and they are fine. I would rate this bed better if the company takes care of the filling. I am happy with the looks and my dog is happy with sleeping on it even though she has to try to fluff it up herself now. I got the web site off the assembly instructions and I hope they do something.
Only dog bed she's ever loved!
I have a 13 yr old Yorkie that was rescued from a puppy mill. She LOVES this bed! I had purchased other beds for her in the past- she turned her nose up at them and would choose to sleep on the floor instead! I bought this bed on recommendation from our dog walker, and Lily is in LOVE. We have to take her bed to bed--she sleeps on her bed in our bed! We travel everywhere with this bed. Her first bed lasted for about 3 years before it just became so flat we replaced it with a second one. This was one of the best investments we ever made for her!
Bed looks 'Tuckered Out'
I would agree with some of the other reviews in that we were very excited about this bed when it arrived; now - not so much. When it first came out of the box, it was fluffy, puffy and downright comfy. It has now been in use for nearly 1 year and so it would seem, a good time to offer up our review. Our dog is a super calm and gentle Standard Poodle (short clip) who never scratches or bites his bed. When he finds the right place, he settles down. With this bed, he simply finds the berber too warm for sleeping (even in winter). Consequently, he opts for half the night on the cool hardwood floor (ouch) before eventually making his way back to the relative comfort of his Tuckered Out bed by morning. Even with this limited use, the bed looks like an old relic. The berber surface is flat and matted, the filling is thin and lumpy, and the bed just won't stay in the bolster position, no matter how tightly I pull the cords. The liner that holds the filling is very thin and nearly self-destructs with even the slightest of handling when removing the cover for laundering. I will add, however, that the removable cover is a great feature that I would insist upon. In summary, a cooler fabric with more loft would have our dog sleeping better, while improved value and wearability would undoubtedly have us sleeping better. I suspect come winter, this bed will find its way into our van to live out its anticipated short life for travel around town. Sadly, we would not recommend this product.
Old Dogs' Dream Bed
Our 14 year old Rottweiler & Colli mix really enjoys this very well made dog bed. He is a big boy and the filling conforms to his shape with ease. Contrary to other claims we have had no issues with the filling wearing out - just shake out the bed once or twice a week and it works like new.
We already own two other West Paw Design dog beds, the organic Bumper Bed for our Border Collie (he had knee surgery and likes the softness of the bed) and one Eco Nap for lazing about. The only time our dogs leave the comfort of the beds is for meals, walks and playtime.
It is good to know these beds are Made in the USA - the large retailers carry mostly cheap Chinese junk made of polyester that no self respecting human would wear on their bodies.
The quality justifies every penny of the asking price - durable, easy to clean and care for. A good product made right - and made here in the US.
Not long lasting
This bed was great at first. However, I would agree with other reviewers that the inner filling falls apart very quickly. The outer berber cover is holding up well, however. The filling is very flat where my dog sleeps the most, and I can no longer "fluff" it up. I would expect the filling to be a bit more sturdy, since it is being used for a dog. My dog tries her hardest to move the filling around where she sleeps as well. I would not recommend purchasing this bed, unless you have a very small dog who does not really "use" their bed.
Easy to destroy
I was so excited about this bed. I thought it would see my pup through his young years to his old ones, but he has destroyed it. Even when "tuckered out" from lots of exercise, he still found energy to rip up his bed. He was able to open the zipper and shred the bed within the cover. Unfortunately, I could not trust him to be alone with this expensive purchase.
Overall, I think this bed is great, but I would think twice about getting it for a puppy until you are sure the puppy is old enough not to destroy it.
Zipper damage after 3 weeks
Loved this bed but just after three weeks my dog was able to pull down the zipper enough that some of the stitching tore apart. Zipper won't go back up the extra inch. Don't know if I will be able to sew it back together. Very disappointed.
Don't judge a book by it's cover!
Initially I would have given this bed a 5. Both my dog and I loved it! After 3 months of use the polyfill did condense in the spots my 40 lb. dog liked to sleep in on a regular basis. I grabbed the bed and fluffed it up which worked well, I thought, until I removed the beautiful, sturdy berber cover. The inner liner had big tears in about seven different places. It is tissue thin and tears very easily. I'm so disappointed! Why use such an inferior fabric to manufacture a liner for such an expensive and potentially wonderful dog bed?
Possibly the Perfect Bed
Love, love, love this bed! I work in veterinary medicine & have seen all sorts of dog beds over the years. This one is by far my favorite. Although expensive, they are beautiful & completely machine washable. I purchased 2 mediums for my 2 mixed breeds weighing 30-45# & my friend purchased 2 mediums for her dachshunds. My 45#'r could've gone up to a large but is still really comfortable. The beds don't look quite as big as you would think from the dimensions because of the curved bolster construction. My dogs loved them right away & lie on them all the time. Very good for dogs who like to "snuggle in" to their bed. Thanks West Paw!
A very satisfied repeat customer
This is my third Tuckered Out bed. The first one I bought because it fit the space. The second was for a senior dog; and the latest one is for my new rescue dog who needs a quick exit. The bed have worn very well;--the old one is in the basement for the cats. And the service from West Paw Designs has always been perfect. Thank you very much.
a surprise hit on the first night
I was hesitant about purchasing this bed only because I have purchased other beds in the past and Poochie didn't quite take to them. Poochie is a "big" yorkshire terrier about 12 pounds and I noticed that he was having some difficulty going up steps and getting on top of our bed. We purchased one of those gelpedic beds for dogs with the low surround -- he rarely uses it (i use it more than him actually, it's quite comfortable to sit on...;-). I found West Paw Design's Tuckered Out bed to be something that could be right for the Poochman - easy to get in to, warm and comfy. I received the bed today and did a human test run and sat in it myself - very comfy and surprsingly firm. I thought it would be too soft or mushy, but the Tuckered Out bed has pretty good support (must be those plastic bottles). Poochie didn't take to it at first so I had to coax him into it a little. As soon as he sat down it in, and I kid you not, he stayed in that bed for a good two hour nap. As I write this, it's bedtime and he's back in the Tuckered Out bed apparently having some sweet dreams. Lucky rascal.
Will send some pics soon of Mr. Pooch having a snooz on the Tuckered Out bed soon. BTW, Poochie is a "big" yorkshire terrier. About 12 pounds. We ordered the Medium-sized Tuckered Out bed and he has plenty of space to curl up or stretch out as he pleases. Nice Blue color, too. West Paw Design: you done good.
Lab Loves!!
I ordered this bed for my 9 month 90 pound lab and he loves it! I ordered an XL, yet worried that it may be too small, but I was so wrong. The XL is huge!! He loves the bumper on all three sides! Thanks so much for great products!
Awesome bed
My dog loves this bed! He used to sleep with me every night, and now I wake up to find that he is on this bed instead!! I would recommend this bed to anyone! Great Quality
The Best Dog Bed EVER!
We knew we found a great dog bed, when our basset hound jumped down off the couch to go lie on his new bed.
We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a soft, cozy, eco-friendly dog bed. Our basset hound loves the bolster pillow. The size that we got (L) fits nicely into his dog crate, an added bonus. Thanks West Paw for making such great products, right here in the USA!
Magic Bed
We purchased this bed yesterday for our eight-year-old (?) border collie mix who has some pretty severe hip dysplasia. He's newly adopted and we wanted to find something extremely comfortable for his new home. If the first night is any indication, we've found the perfect bed. He climbed onto it as soon as we got it home and slept for 14-15 hours.
