Great toy, love it!!

By: Jamie Hynes - Sarasota, FL Sep 01, 2010

I have a one year old weimaraner who destroys every toy given in minutes. The hurley survived 6 months before its death. I have recommended to many of my friends. Will be buying more.

Penny is in the 1%

By: Anonymous - Ontario Sep 01, 2010

Penny is a 3 year old Setter, Collie mix (about 45lbs) and she tore a chunk out of the Hurley bone in less than 10 minutes :( It lasted for even less time than the Kong Extreme which took her about 20 minutes to destroy. I will be returning it and hope that maybe it was just a bad bone?

The ONLY indestructible dog toy!

By: Rebecca - Durham, NC Aug 20, 2010

The Hurley saved us! I never write reviews, but wanted to review this because I want anyone who has an aggressive chewer and who was skeptical about these toys like I was to BUY THIS NOW! We have a golden retriever (now almost 2 yrs) who is a VERY aggressive chewer. He loves to carry toys in his mouth, but if he figures out that he can chew it up, that's it! He can chew up kongs (yes, even the black ones) and anything else out there labeled as "tough" or "indestructible". These zogoflex toys are AWESOME, and the ONLY thing that he has not been able to chew up within 5 minutes. I think the Hurley is the toughest, and I would recommend trying that first if you have a very aggressive chewer. Our dog loves the Tux the most, probably because eventually he has been able to chew off very small pieces (but that's after almost a year of serious chewing!), the huck is also great for outdoor play. We did not have luck with the zisc or bumi, those were chewed within minutes. I love this toy! We have 3 of them!

Great Product

By: Stan and Betsy's Mom - Kentucky Jul 31, 2010

I love this product! I have a whippet mix and a black lab and both are avid chewers. No toy lasts long in our house. The lab loves to play fetch with his hurley and has been unsuccessful in destroying it and we have had it for over a year. This is so impressive to me as even the black kong was no match for him. My whippet mix has no interest in the hurley at all, although she doesn't like any toys that she can't destroy. Her hurley was stolen by the neighbor dog, but I think she enjoys it, so that's ok. We definitely recommend the hurley!

5

GREAT!!!!

By: Gabi and Armani - Germany Jul 28, 2010

I have an American Staffordshire who has broken and torn any toy I gave him. He has had his hurley for 3 years now - not a scratch and he loves and and chews on it all the time. I (we) can only recommend it!!!

I have a 1% dog!

By: Erin - Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 27, 2010

Love this toy, and it lasted longer than most toys I get my pooch, but he did manage to rip it to bits in under a week. Most toys are lucky to survive the first 5 minutes intact, so I was over the moon that he didn't rip this to bits immediately.

He loved it, and we played with it, but it's now in pieces all over the house. But definately one of the most durable toys he's had. Two thumbs up.

5

Hurl it!

By: Nik - SF, CA Jul 20, 2010

Great Dane. She tugs, she chases she chews. She doesn't like the water so I haven't tried it in the ocean. 1 year and counting. Thanks WP.

Can't be distroyed

By: Anonymous - Simsbury,CT Jul 19, 2010

Our golden doodle has managed to distroy every toy we give him, except this one! He has not even made a mark in it and he plays with it all the time! Thanks!

5

BEST TOY SO FAR!

By: Anonymous - Texas Jul 12, 2010

This toy is great for our German Shepherd! This is the only toy since she was a puppy that she has not been able to destroy in 15 mins!! We have had it since Friday and she has not been able to put as much as a tooth mark on it! Such a great toy for a dog that loves to chew!!

It's very fun to watch her chase it, love the color (Orange), and she loves it when it bounces so she can jump up and catch it!

5

Great Bone!

By: Kelli - Atlanta GA Jul 10, 2010

This is the ONLY toy that our 9-month old lab has not destroyed while loving and enjoying it. This is one of her favorites and ours too!

5

Indestructible toy!

By: Monica - Qatar May 29, 2010

My Sophie is a Saluki - German Shepherd mix and is an avid chewer. No toy has lasted more than 15 minutes with her.

The Hurley was given to her by my dad from his trip to Canada a year ago. She has been UNABLE to destroy it. No matter what she does, no amount of chewing has managed to puncture the toy.

I am so amazed it has lasted this long with her and has sustained no doggie damage at all!

3

The best chew toy I have found but...

By: Anonymous - Cape Breton, NS May 28, 2010

I have probably bought 5 or 6 of these chew toys for my Boston Terrier. They have lasted about 3 to 5 weeks before I have had to throw them away because my dog has managed to chew through the material, and eat the little pieces. This is the best product I can find. Every other toy lasts only hours or minutes. I just bought a rubber bone for $14 and he had one end chewed up in a few minutes. I think this toy would last a lot longer if the 'paw' print was left off and just the smooth material was there. This is the place where my dog always manages to pick it apart.

4

Hurley for our Hurley

By: Anonymous - NWT, Canada May 26, 2010

We have a year old lab (named Hurley coincidence has it). Last Christmas, friends of ours purchased this for him because of the name. It lasted nearly 5 months before he chewed it into two pieces. Quite a remarkable thing for him - an avid chewer! We love the bone and I will be looking at purchasing some of the other items that are listed similar to this one. Great toy West Paw Design!

5

Addictive fun!

By: Knight - Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 14, 2010

Our 20-lb mixed-breed dog is gentle with all of his toys, so destructiveness wasn't an issue, but he's showed no interest in Kongs or any rubber toy. He's mildly interested in the flexible nylabones, but in general, until now, he's only enjoyed playing with soft stuffed toys.

He LOVES the hurley! He'll try to pounce on it when we throw it for him, but the erratic bounce means that he quite often overshoots and has to whirl around to search for it- very funny to watch. It's also very flexible, which I think he appreciates.

5

It is durable!!

By: Meredith - VA May 11, 2010

I'm shocked! When they said it was durable they weren' kidding. My dog is an agressive chewer and destroys almost every toy he is given within a weeks time. But not Hurley. He's had it for almost 3 months and loves it. He plays fetch and pull with it. We just bought him a bumi so we will see how that toy is with him. But we love the fact that he hasn't destroyed the toy and he loves playing with it all the time. So much so he hasn't chewed his nylabones! Way to go! Great product!!!!

5

My dogs LOVE it! And so do I!

By: Ashley - Kankakee, IL May 04, 2010

I purchased this at a local dog boutique because it had the guarantee on it. And let's be honest- I'm totally fed up with paying $15 for a dog toy because they say it's really durable only to have it destroyed within 20 minutes. We have had this toy for around 3 months now and there isn't even a tooth mark on it!! I have two pitts and they play with it almost every day and you would never know it by looking at it. It also washes easily which is a plus. I HIGHLY suggest giving this toy a try. I'd give this more stars if I could.

5

This toy is one of the few

By: Anonymous - Los Angeles Apr 22, 2010

This toy is one of the few that have lasted through two dogs chewing on it, one of which is a pit mix. And MADE IN THE USA. Refreshing!

5

Favorite for sure

By: Millie's mom - California Apr 15, 2010

My doggie loves this thing - had to buy an extra for back up because if it is lost for a few hours poor baby goes nuts. She carries it, chews it and plays fetch with it - on ground or in water - even goes to sleep with it in bed with her. She's one year old border collie mix and very chewy - chewed everything to destruction until I found this. We love it. Thank you for a great product!

5

The Best Dog Toy Made In The USA!

By: Anonymous - Mishawaka, Indiana Feb 22, 2010

We have had this Hurley since 3-27-2008 and there is not one tooth make in it yet! We have an almost 4 year old Labradoodle and she plays with it about everyday. The main reason I wanted to purchase one of theses toys was because it is made here in the U.S.A. and NOT in China! I do not want an inferior product for my family member that is possibly tainted with Lead. Thank you West Paw Design for an amazing American product that is designed to last and our dog has proven that to me.

5

IT LASTS!

By: S. W. - Saint Paul MN Feb 10, 2010

I have a German Shepherd puppy only 9 months old and she has destoryed EVERY toy I have given her -- even Kongs. I saw this website and thought about buying her a Hurley but really didn't believe she wouldn't wreck this toy too. At the pet store near my house, they were selling Hurleys and I said why not. YEAH my sweet Bella has finally met her match. I now have several Hurleys in the house so when she starts to get mouthy I give her the Hurley.

Thanks for making something so sturdy and safe!

5

Long Lasting Chew Toy

By: A. W. - Minnesota Feb 06, 2010

We've had the Hurley for over a year now and our Lab has yet to destroy it! She is a very powerful chewer and is constantly chewing on it. I love that it has held up this long, it's nice to have such a great toy to keep her busy. Hurley is a really great chew/fetch toy. We are also fans of the Huck.

5

I love this

By: Melissah - Feb 04, 2010

My 5 yr old Pom-mix usually destroys his toys within 5 mins. I bought him a Hurley in November and he's still working on it with no damage. He caries it everywhere.

1

Hurley

By: Anonymous - Michign Jan 21, 2010

I gave the bone to my two year old pit bull. He chewed through the toy in under a half hour. I did not expect the product to last forever, but I did expect more than a half hour.

5

Absolutely Rugged

By: Martin - Damascus, OR Jan 20, 2010

We own two English Mastiffs. "Moose" is a big boy weighing in at 223 and is a POWERFUL chewer. "Lilly" is petite at a dainty 137 but has chewed her way through untold toys, furniture, deck chairs etc. We bought two Hurleys at Christmas, handed them over to the team and waited to see what happened. Thus far, both Hurleys are intact and still going strong. I will definitely continue to buy replacement Hurleys if/when needed.

2

Not Puppy Proof

By: Julie - West Hartford, CT Jan 11, 2010

We had this toy for a year or 2 for our older Wheaten Terrier, and it held up really well. Then we got our Wheaten Terrier puppy. This toy became her favorite and about a week later, she had managed to chew the end nearly clean off. I'm sure it would have lasted a life time for our older dog, but it certainly can't stand up to those sharp puppy teeth for long at all.

1

hurley, come on...

By: Sergio - toronto Dec 20, 2009

It is nearly 2010 and no one can make a dog toy that lasts, this is quite sad. My 3 mth old cane corso / boxer destroyed this product in one afternoon. With taxes i paid $17 for this product, i am dissapointed.

5

still going!

By: Anonymous - Dec 15, 2009

We purchased this toy for our English bulldog puppy who eats EVERYTHING! We have had this toy since September 2009 and knock on wood, its still around. Teeth marks are evident but again the toy is still in one piece and it hasnt been chewed through yet. Compared to the plastic toys that are sold at Petsmart, Petco etc. this one really has stood the test of time.

I must say if it makes the dog happy and he leaves my shoes alone I may have to buy one in every color!

5

Wonderful Toy!

By: Anonymous - Sacramento, CA Dec 13, 2009

Our 13 year-old, male black lab absolutely LOVES this toy. He has denounced all toys with the exception of this bone. Thank you for making Max so happy in his old age :)

2

Ehhh

By: Anonymous - New York Dec 07, 2009

I have a 10 month old chocolate lab/pitbull. This lasted longer than most toys before being completely destroyed. He got this in two pieces within a few days. I just want a toy that lasts over a week.

5

One year later, the Hurley lives on.

By: Anonymous - Minneapolis Dec 04, 2009

A chew toy with a one-year lifespan is unthinkable at our home, and though a year after purchase Hurley has some nicks and is a bit worse for the wear, this toy stands among the proud few that our black lab, Maggie, hasn't taken down. (For those of you with chewers who may need ideas, the others still among the living are a perfectly round (read "really hard to sink teeth into) giant red Kong ball, a Jolly Ball, and a few Nylabones.)

Everything else has perished more or less instantly -- squeakers torn out and shredded, fluff flying everywhere, plush toys ripped at the seams, bits of plastic chewed and spit out all over the wood floors...

Maggie is a demolition expert who has chewed through drywall, eaten wooden stairs, and easily destroyed any number of toys marketed "for power chewers" or labeled "indestructible". I think we need to secure her a job as a product tester...

For some strange reason, Maggie loves this toy so much that she's decided to let it live. It just might be worth a shot for you, too.

Top 1%

By: Anonymous - Alabama Nov 28, 2009

I have a 1 1/2 year old pit bull named Penny. She goes through ANY toy within 1 day of constant chewing. These toys made it longer then most although neither made it past 4 days. Sad to say :(

5

The Hurley is gift from the gods

By: peter whaley - Canada Nov 25, 2009

We have a beautiful Lab/pitty mix who has chewed all chew toys to oblivion. You name it, Tula has destroyed it...you can almost here her saying "what's next, what d'ya got, come on, bring it on!!" Then came the Hurley... it came, it saw and it destroyed the Tulanator.

ps- I can now afford to take my wife out to dinner!

1

I guess I own the destroyer

By: verna - penticton, bc Oct 11, 2009

I own a male Jack Russell Terrier and he destroys every toy he has. I was on Vancouver Island and I saw the Hurley Durable and Flexible toy so I bought it because I am willing to try just about anything. I purchased the toy on Oct 7th, 2009. I noticed the first day he had it that the material was starting to get strain marks in the material and my dog diezel had already broke the material on the outside on Oct 10th, 2009. I pretty well give up on getting chew toys for my dog. now I just need to find a dealer a little bit closer so i can return the toy for a full refund.

5

OMG!!!!

By: Deacon Dog - Kansas City, MO Oct 06, 2009

I LOVE THESE TOYS!!!! i have a 10lb Yorkie that chews up EVERYTHING. You would think 10lbs 'WHATEVER!!!' but we're talking about a dog that chewed a hole in my wall. Not on the corner of the wall but right in the middle, pooped plaster for 2 days. Then there was the chewing the trim off my kitchen door. He chews on things like my St. Bernard did. So far AWESOME!!!!!! I agree, please make more toys like this.

Great Toy for Destroyer

By: Jacqui - Villa Park, IL Sep 08, 2009

This is the most durable and usser friendly fetch toy I've found. My dog is a master toy distroyer, but she has met her match. I also like that I can run the toy under water and it doesn't absorb the water like other toys. It looks as it did the day I bought it.

3

Others last MUCH longer

By: Anonymous - Aug 31, 2009

My dog must be in the top 1%... She loves it, but it only lasted a few weeks. (The Huck only lasted a few hours.) She can destroy most toys in under 5 minutes. This has lasted longer, but the Kong (red and blue, not the black) is the only thing she hasn't made a dent in.

That said, this is one of her absolute favorites. We're on our 4th or 5th one (in a few months). Still a bargain, compared to the ones that cost nearly as much and don't make it 5 minutes.

3

Dogs LOVE it, but it doesn't hold up long

By: 2Rescues - Aug 31, 2009

Hurleys are a HUGE hit at my house. My girls can be sitting in a room with (literally) a dozen toys and they fight over the Hurley!

My Dobie mix goes through toys in less than 5 minutes. This lasted a few weeks. She loves it. And it was a big help when Miss I-Hate-Water had to undergo PT in a pool. She was frantic and wanting to get out of the pool. I threw the Hurley to the other end and she WOULD go after it! It got her to do some much-needed swimming.

She's gone through at least 3 Hurleys (none lasting more than a few weeks). I tried the Huck and it didn't make it more than a few minutes. I guess she's in that 1% of mega-chewers...

We now have a second rescue who is teething. We're buying more Hurleys - they are still the longest lasting (though nowhere near as tough as claimed, in my experience) and the most popular in our house.

5

Amazing

By: Anonymous - Vancouver, WA Aug 25, 2009

I gave this to my Great Dane Puppy a while back and now even at 152 lbs this is still her favorite toy.  She LOVES this thing and can chew on it for hours.  Have been meaning to get another for her brother to have since he's annoyed he never gets to play with it.  I would recommend this highly.  Dogs can destroy almost anything it's in their nature.  Mine hasn't killed this yet that's a good investment.

5

Awesome

By: Anonymous - Oregon Aug 24, 2009

My Golden Retriever loves to chew..and carry things in his mouth for long periods of time. This toy has been the best one that I have EVER owned for any of my pets. He has not been able to chew it up..or even put a dent in it, and believe me he tries. We took it on vacation and he loved going after it in the water. The soft yet indestructible material is great. I dont worry that he is going to chip a tooth or cut his gums...Cant say it enough ..wonderful product!!!

I only lose them to the ocean

By: Vickie - El Cajon, CA Aug 15, 2009

With 2 water lovin' Cardigan Corgis the Hurley is great. It gets hot here, anything past 75 degrees (all summer and into Nov.) they head to the pool. The Hurley floats and provides them with hours of fun, with or without me. The only durable toy that floats and is easy to grap while battling the waves at the beach on special trips. We have a Huck, but the Hurley is the favorite. Although it has a few small chunks out of it nothing has lasted as long AND floats (BOTH criteria a must). I am ordering more, we lost two to the ocean. It has been worth it! Thanks

2 for the Price of 1

By: Anonymous - Illinois Jul 24, 2009

I bought this randomly one day not realizing how much of a God send it would be in our house.  We have two larger size dogs that have found ways to make most indestructable toys into destructable toys!  We use to give our first dog kongs filled with either treats or peanut butter in her kennel while we were gone.  She was always approrpiate with it till one day she learned she could chew up the kong.  Now anytime we give her one, she destroys it in a matter of a few minutes.  We don't give them to her anymore.  We haven't tried leaving this hurley in her kennel, but all I can say is that my 2 dogs will play with it at the same time and will eventually take turns to sit there and chomp away on it for awhile.  By this time I'm normally in the other room and as I'm listening I will hear a sound as if half of it has been bitten off.  I go in to inspect it and it's perfectly fine.  There are a few teeth marks on it, which is expected with having 2 dogs play with it for about a year now.  But I'm sooooo impressed with it!  I'd love to see how they'd do with it in their kennels, but I'll be patient and work with them a little at a time!  Thanks again for making this toy!  It's unbelievable!!!

Thank You!

By: Anonymous - Texas Jul 20, 2009

Thank you so much for making such a high quality product!!  My eleven month old Vizsla manages to destroy every toy we buy him within minutes.  After about six months of chasing and chewing on Hurley and Huck, we have yet to see any damage.  Besides durability, Hurley and Huck hold the interest of our highly distractable dog more than any other toy out there. We love your products so much that we refuse to buy him any other toys unless they are Zogoflex.  For his first birthday we will definitely be ordering Bumi and Tux.  Thank you again for such wonderful products....please keep them coming!!!!

Dog-Indestructable!!!

By: Guinness-and-Tink - Jul 06, 2009

I am a very wild dog and until I got my very own Zogoflex Hurley bone, I destroyed every floating toy used in our daily swimming play sessions.  I have had my Hurley bone for two months and despite chomping, tugging, and tearing, it is as good as new.  My "human" is ordering a smaller version for my little buddy Tink.  These INDESTRUCTABLE toys are THE BEST.  They get "5 paws" from us!!!  Guinness and Tink.

4

my dog LOVES this thing

By: D D - Chicago Jun 04, 2009

My dog is very picky, and she absolutely loves this toy. We bring it to the dog beach in Chicago for her to chase. My only (small) complaint is that while it does float, it floats just at the water line, not on top of the water, so it is somewhat hard to see at times. A bit more "floaty" or some more vibrant colors might help.

5

Doggie Daycare Proof

By: Morgan's Paws - York, PA May 15, 2009

Went to Baltimore Backer's show in April and got one of these to test in doggie daycare. Well, to this day it is still intact! The dogs love it and we love it! Great toy!!! I am now getting them in to sell!!!

5

Durable

By: Becca - MI May 15, 2009

This is the ONLY toy my Weimeraner hasn't eaten. He's had it for 4 years, and it has outlasted every other toy for this tough chewer including kongs, tennis balls, a solid rubbery "indestructible" ball and more. We tried to find more in stores, but had to resort to ordering online. LOVE IT!

5

toughest toy around but wish it came in extra large

By: Rusty the Pit Mastiff mix - San Diego May 09, 2009

Rusty is a big muscular 100 lb powerhouse of a dog. Although he has been able to chew the end of the toy off, this has far outlasted anything out there. I will not mail this toy back to the company to take advantage of the money back guarantee because he loves this toy so much and will not part with it. I recently purchased the huck and that is holding up pretty well, but I think I am going to purchase another hurley for him. The only thing that would make this toy better is if it came in an extra large size for the stronger breeds.

2

Totally destructable!

By: Gerri K. - Ashton< MD May 09, 2009

I found this toy at a boutique pet store while on vacation. I was thrilled to finally find something that my 2 Soft Coated Wheatens would not destroy. So, I purchased 2. Within 1 hour my not quite 2 yr old female had eaten part of the top off and within a short amount of time was throwing up. I must say that before getting sick, she did enjoy the hour of play. The manufacturer is willing to replace the bones, but why would I want to subject both of my dogs to getting sick again. Not much for the guarentee and standing behind your product!

5

Best in the chew test

By: - California May 03, 2009

My two doodles can chew up any toy made except this. Most toys last 2 minutes to two weeks. Hurleys have lasted 18 months and are still going strong for retreiving, water retreiving, 2 dog puller, tugger, and snatch the bone. If I could throw better I would not ever have to replace it. But I throw like a girl and they occasionally get lost.

5

Is still going strong!

By: Sue - Toronto, Ontario Apr 12, 2009

I did a review on indestructible dog toys and the Hurley bone is one of four toys that have survived my 2 year old Mastiff/Retriever. She can take apart a toy in less than 10 minutes so when my local pet store owner recommended the Hurley I was skeptical to say the least! If you want to check out the full review you can read about the toys that made it here -

Doberman's Longest Lasting Toy.

By: - Ontario Apr 06, 2009

Truly indestructable.

This is my purebred doberman's longest lasting toy (it still exists). I rarely buy her soft toys because it's pointless, they don't last.

It's so strong we can play tug with it. Whenever she wants to play, she brings it over in her mouth. She holds the one end and leaves "extra" room for my hand to grab and then keeps bringing it back to play tug with over and over again. I can even lift her up with it, she won't let go.

The only thing is she gets no satisfaction from not being able to destroy the toy, but in terms of it's quality - it has lasted us!

5

Very happy so far

By: Robin S - Ohio Apr 02, 2009

Our rescue Boxer has gone through every toy I've ever found within an hour. I am so far very impressed with the Hurley, it has been a week and so far so good. I will be purchasing another style soon.

5

The only toy our Pit/Boxer mixes can't destroy in one hour!

By: - Raleigh, North Carolina Mar 21, 2009

There isn't a single other toy out there, including the large size Kongs that our 80lb. Boxer/Pit mix can't demolish in one hour EXCEPT these Hurley toys. Thanks you so much!!

2

Will not last long for motivated power chewers

By: BlackLabDad - NY Mar 18, 2009

It took the 2 year old black Lab about 2 hours minutes to rip this into many small pieces. It had taken him 2 weeks to destroy the black Kong.

Oh well, the guarantee will help ... and he certainly enjoyed it for that brief period.

5

Great toy

By: Rob - Mesa, AZ Mar 08, 2009

This has been a great toy. Our English Pointer loves this toy. She did manage to destroy one, but only after several months. We always have two on hand. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback is partial to his Wubba, but the Hurley is a close second.

1

didnt last 10 minuttes

By: dana - canada Feb 22, 2009

my ten month old american bulldog had this destroyed in about ten minutes
not good for aggresive chewers

5

Great for tough the strongest chewer

By: Charlie's Mom - Chagrin Falls, OH Feb 22, 2009

I FINALLY found a bone my dog will not destroy. I can't tell you how many bones we have bought over the past several years that say they are "indestructable". One of my Labs, Charlie, usually tears through them within an hour or so and they have to go in the garbage. We've had this bone for several weeks now and it's still in one piece! Can't believe it! I highly recommend this product.

5

Super product, our dog's favorite toy!

By: Dan - So Cal Feb 11, 2009

The 'bopperoo' (aka 'jack') was our Entlebucher's favorite toy, that was until Hurley came along! He quickly gets bored with balls (predictable bounce?) but really enjoys chasing the Hurley and it's random bounce. It's also great that it floats because we take it to the park, the lake, the beach, pretty much everywhere. However, he might even enjoy chewing on it more than chasing it, and he's a medium to tough chewer.
We've had the Hurley for about a year now and it's just starting to come apart at the ends so I'm going to take West Paw up on their superb guarantee and get it replace. And based on my good experience with this product I'm going to consider some of their other products as well. I also really like their consideration of being eco-conscious.
Well done West Paws, keep up the good work!

Nowhere near Indestructable

By: - Feb 05, 2009

I got this toy right before a camping trip thinking it would entertain my dog while she was sitting around the campsite. My year old border collie mix had a chunk off of this toy in 10 minutes and had completely destroyed the toy by the end of the trip, which was 2 nights. I've had much better luck with the black kong.

I agree with BOOOO!!!!!

By: Sonia Wright - Elkton, MD Feb 04, 2009

I bought these from our pet store- they would not take them back- I have to pay $$$ for three huck toys and they are all chewed up.
Then I get to pay more money and send them back to the manufacture!!

Wonderful!! more money!!

Will not buy these again

lastest longer then most...

By: - Livermore, Ca Jan 23, 2009

My 2 1/2 year old Pitbull LOVES this toy and carries it with her EVERYWHERE... she even puts it in her food bowl while she is eating. The only thing is she had a hole in the first day and it gets smaller by the day. It is the first toy she hasn’t chewed up in one day though. The black kong didn’t last a day much less an hour.
This is the most indestructible toy we have found so far... but even still it isn’t completely indestructible.

Going to use that guarantee...

By: Rachel - Champaign, IL Jan 14, 2009

I own the Tux and Huck Zogoflex toys and they've been absolutely great, but this one didn't hold up to my one-year-old Pit Bull/Weimaraner mix's chewing. I was very disappointed that she tore big chunks of the end off within 15-30 minutes after bringing it home. She absolutely loves the toy, but it wasn't indestructible for her. I would consider my dog an unusually/astonishingly strong chewer, though. Most other people I know who have the Hurley love it and it stands up to their dogs. West Paw has the guarantee though, so I'll just get a refund on this one. Outstanding company with typically great products--I'm very sorry I can only give this one two stars.

Amazing

By: AGW - Baltimore, MD Jan 03, 2009

My mom got my year old lab, Cooper, the Hurley several months ago and he loves it! He carries it all around our house and we make sure to pack it when ever we go out to play. He loves that it bounces when you throw it! It is durable like no other toy we've found - and he's a chewer! We got the Tux for him for Christmas and he's lovin' it too!!! Now were looking to get a zisc for my parents lab, Molly.

all that is promised

By: Mu Shu - KCMO Dec 21, 2008

Reviewed this for mumucachoo.com. It got 5 mu-paws. Stood up to a bull terrier, 3 pit bulls, and a very tenacious rat terrier. Kudos! We are hooked. Looking forward to reviewing more product from West Paw Designs.

boo : (

By: Randi - Bloomfield, CT Dec 17, 2008

My 10 month old white shepherd was through this in 45 minutes. Now she poops orange. On the plus side, she wasn't able to get off large enough chunks that she wasn't able to pass them.

Boston's Best - The Hurley

By: Reese - PA Dec 05, 2008

The best and favorite chew toy for our two-year old Boston Terrier. We bought the Hurley only a few weeks after we adopted our dog and seeing her destroy toys in less than an hour. She plays with her Hurley every day. It took her over a year to make a dent and the end just came off. The noise it makes when she chews would make one think that she has shred it to pieces, but not so. The Huck still looks brand new at almost two years. Buying two more Hurleys today.

Best Toy for Power Chewers!

By: - Dec 05, 2008

Your Zogoflex products are the ONLY toys that withstand the chewing power of our Chocolate Lab!! We have bought duplicates of the Hurley, Huck and Tux...the Zisc did not hold up as well but it did outlast other frisbees. Thanks and PLEASE continue to develop more toys in the Zogoflex line!!

hurley

By: stephanie paige - red lion pa Dec 03, 2008

our dogs found a way to chew the ends and we had to throw them away. when I first got them, they were great. we thought we found the only toy they couldn't destroy. but not anymore. let me know when you make something stronger.......

Zoe -The Golden Chewer

By: Debbie - Boca Raton, FL Nov 25, 2008

A pet shop owner in Lake Placid said this was a great choice as a dog toy. We are thrilled that our Golden Retreiver loves this toy & has not yet destroyed it after 5 months - so I am on the site to order more.

5

Best chew toy

By: Natalie - Wisconsin Nov 20, 2008

My husband and I purchased the Hurley about 6 months ago. Our dog, Jasper, has chewed through every other toy, except this one. He loves to play with it since it bounces and he chews on it for hours without making a dent. I would highly recommend this toy. It has lasted(and is still lasting) a lot longer than other toy.

5

great but not indestructable

By: EmilyS - Wyoming Nov 14, 2008

My 3 pit bulls LOVE their Hurleys. It's about the only toy they will retrieve and tug with. But the Hurleys don't last forever.. my dogs "attack" the ends and eventually gnaw/pull off a chunk. A few months is about as good as it gets. But I continue to buy them, because they last LONGER than any other toy. Sadly, they don't like the TUX particularly (the design of that toy probably makes it more durable). With that warning, I highly recommend the toy.

5

Best Pool Toy Ever!

By: - Phoenix, Arizona Nov 09, 2008

These are the best pool toys ever. We've had two for over five years without a scratch or tooth mark on them. With two big labs that swim year-round, I can't tell you how much we appreciate toys that don't have to be replaced every month. Thank you West Paw Design!

5

The Only Toy That Lasts!

By: Lee - Nov 07, 2008

This is the ONLY toy my heavy chewer has! When he was a puppy, he did manage to chew through this in about two hours. He's grown now, and while he's still an avid chewer, these "bones" last him for months! I don't know what I'd do without these!

5

Awesome, Just Awesome!

By: Gary - Erie, PA Nov 01, 2008

Our 2 year old lab mix was ribbing thru toys like wildfire till I found the Hurley. Now almost a year later the Hurley is in perfect condition. The Zisc was a different story, however. It lasted a few months without incident but soon a hole appeared and is now split in two (it still took her 7 months of trying). Thank god West Paw offers a replacement toy!! Keep up the good work.

Thank goodness

By: SoPo Pirates - Secret Pirate Cove, Maine Oct 28, 2008

Aaarrrrrgggggg, we were at our wit's end with finding something safe for our standard poodle puppy. The folks at the Pet Pantry in Freeport listened to our tale of his chewing and suggested several "tested" products. The only one that withstood the "RUGBY" test was the Hurley.

That was 4 months ago and it's still going strong!! Today we bought a Huck and are just as thrilled with it. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Lasted longer than expected

By: Jamie - Maine Oct 16, 2008

I bought one of these for my boyfriend's dog, Robbie. He is a pit bull/lab mix, and generally chews through everything in seconds. Kongs last longer, but will also be destroyed eventually. I bought the Hurley, curious to see how it held up. Immediately, it was clear that Robbie loved this new toy. The shape was good for tug-of-war, for bouncing around, and for holding down with his paws while he chewed. Two hours later, there were puncture marks around the ends. The toy lasted a week of diligent chewing, and then Robbie finally managed to gnaw one end off.

Overall, this didn't hold up as well as a Kong, but he LIKED it better than his Kong. He was clearly heartbroken when I took the broken Hurley away and gave him his Kong to chew on. I'll take advantage of the guarantee, but next time I'll try the Huck and see if that lasts better.

Thanks!

Thank you West Paws!

By: Sarah - Chicago, IL Oct 06, 2008

I am so grateful for this product! My lab mix loves to play and chew but not a single toy would last more than 15-20 minutes in our house always leading to disappointment for everyone...he even ate his way into an extreme kong in that amount of time! We've had the hurley and the tux for about a week now and they still look almost brand new, and trust me Cujo was trying! I would recommend this product to anyone with a powerful chewer, at least give it a try!

Only Toy to Survive Doggy Daycare!

By: Pets & Company - Chesterfield, MO Oct 02, 2008

We've tried every toy in our doggy daycare (20-30 dogs playing together). The Huck's and the Hurley's are the only two survivors, we replace them about every 6 months which is amazing!!! (We used to replace toys weekly) It's so nice that there is a toy out there for those destructive chewers that tear through everything! I recommend it to all of my clients that have those tough chewers.

Thanks WestPaw!

Survived two bulldogs!!

By: Jax - Temecula, CA Sep 24, 2008

I bought this toy with little hope that it would survive my two very large bulldogs who can and have chewed through every "indestructable" toy there is. I am so glad that I found this toy, they love it and have had it for about six months but have yet to destroy it. Believe me, I have tried everything that every pet store and website offered as strong and for "heavy chewers"!! I love it and even if they chew through it tomorrow six months is better than six minutes with the others which has ended up costing me hundreds of dollars in toys. Taz and Talulah thank you!!!!

5

GREAT TOY!

By: Cheryl - So. east Mass Sep 22, 2008

My 3 yr old lab and 2yr old pit bull could destroy every toy even Real bone, big hollow marrow bones. This toy has held up to its name, Guaranteed Tough! They loved it so much we went and got another so they wouldnt fight over it and we alot got the tux and huck....they love them all!

Wonderful Hurley

By: Paul - Absecon, NJ Sep 10, 2008

Hurley has been chewed every day for two years by sharp teeth and is holding up wonderfuly. We bought another two just in case Teddy loses his original.

1

NOT Indestructable

By: - NJ Aug 04, 2008

I bought this toy at a local pet store and was excited to take it home to my Cairn Terrier who is a VERY strong chewer. I thought that with a claim that it was virtually indestructible it would be a good investment. Well, after about a half hour, my pooch not only punctured the toy, but chewed off a big piece of the end.

Back to the drawing board!

5

pet store employee, highly recommended by consumers

By: - hamilton, on Aug 01, 2008

working at a pet store and always getting new products in this is one of the new and highly recommended ones in our store. the zisc is the one that sold out almost immediately. our customers always tell us how they love this product. i have yet to buy one myself, but hopefully soon. the bright tangerine is great color for my one jack that is obessed with orange hockey balls, which last about 5 minutes.

5

Thank God for this toy!

By: Maddie - Iowa Jul 24, 2008

My puppy is a German Wirehaired Pointer, and she loves to destroy anything and everything she gets her paws on. It got very expensive replacing her toys every single week. She even destroys hard rubber toys. The Hurley has survived a month now, and she is still interested in it. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

5

holding up so far...

By: - Chicago, IL Jul 18, 2008

Got a hurley from a local pet store a couple of weeks ago. It's been chewed on and tugged by our ACD and Siberian Husky without a mark thus far. They are strong chewers, but not the most powerful. If your dog can unstuff a plush toy in about 5 minutes but has to work harder at chipping a Kong, this is a great toy!

5

survived the jaws of death!

By: - Colorado Jul 13, 2008

This is the only toy that our young lab mix has not destroyed within 15 minutes. He's had it a month and he hasn't even gnawed a small piece off yet. He finds it himself and has a good chew session with at at least once a day. We're going to try the frisbee next...

Hurley

By: ddl - Chatham, NY Jul 09, 2008

I think I have finally found a toy that my 23-lb hound mix cannot destroy. She has had this toy for about 3 weeks now and the toy shows no signs of destruction yet. She has chewed through practically everything else we have given her.

Not impressed

By: Lynn - Las Vegas Jul 07, 2008

My two year old german shepherd went through this is less than an hour - very disappointing

5

Pretty good toy

By: Hodges Family - Gloucester, Virginia Jul 05, 2008

Our dog loves the toy, but we keep having to trade it in every month or so for a new one. She chews through it, but not as quick as she does other toys. She has torn off pieces, as soon as they get that one piece started, thats the end of the toy.

5

not bulldog proof, though

By: Nuele Mersch - Germany Jul 04, 2008

The best so far! Not indestructible of course, but then what's indestructible for a bulldog... The first dents after perhaps an hour or two, but that needed really hard and satisfying work! The Hurley is perfect for retrieving, search or fetch games, because I can give it back to them instead of a treat and let them chew on it for a few minutes as a reward. These short "attacks" leave the Hurley completely unharmed, and although I cannot recommend to leave it with really heavy chewers while unattended, I am still very pleased with it and will buy a few more. I think it should be perfect for "normal" chewers. What I love most is the fact that it also floats, my puppies are often reluctant to get their feet wet at first but this toy has convinced them that it's fun to go into their little pool! N. Mersch, Berrywood Bulldogs, Germany

2

Not long....

By: Brody - Oregon Jun 15, 2008

Was very excited about a toy that Brody could not chew threw in 15 minutes or less. Well this one lasted maybe 30 mins. A little better.
Like many others I hope there is a toy that is truly indestructible for heavy chewers.

5

Amazed!

By: Brittany - IL Jun 13, 2008

I am totally amazed by this toy. My year old Boston Terrier chews through everything, even the large sized black Kong toys. I found this toy and decided to try one more time with a chew toy (I had all but given up on finding something besides sterilized bones that would endure her chewing). It worked! So far we have had it for 4 months and she has only left a few teeth marks in it. It is her favorite toy and she even knows what to get when I say "green bone." If you have a Boston, you need to get one of these! It has saved me money and has saved my shoes.

5

Hurley is Great !!

By: Sadie - Michigan Jun 12, 2008

We have a 2 year old Lab that can destroy anything. She loves to play in the water with this toy. Living at the lake and having two Labs over the last 9 years we've been through many different water toys and this is the only toy I will buy now. It's easy on their mouth and easy for them to find in the water. When we throw it she loves going under water looking for it before it pops back to the surface, and plays by herself with it also. I'll be buying another one soon as we have a new Lab on the way. Thanks for such a wonderful product!

5

Right Under Our Noses

By: Jake & Julie - Seattle Jun 04, 2008

We have a ridgeback mix and a lab mix that are both very powerful chewers. We tried everything we could find at our local store until we realized that the West Paw Hurley we'd had for five years or so hadn't suffered even a scratch. We bought 3 more recently on-line and they LOVE them. They're great tug-o-war toys and neither of them can seem to tear a piece off after months of "work". We realize that these may not be for every dog but even our ridgeback can get big chunks off the hardest Nylabone. These are softer to chew but seem indestructable. Thanks also for posting negative as well as positive reviews!! It builds trust.

Hurley

By: Craig Bushey - Arcadia, Ca Jun 01, 2008

We have two less than two year old labs. Total destroyers. I've had to replace 9 sections of our pool vac due to their behavior, or lack of. The Hurley is great. Yes, they get little nicks out of it now and then, but they've had them for 72 hours now with little damage. The fact that they float makes it even better. I don't think there is a totally indestructable toy out there that a powerful dog can't get to, but this comes pretty darn close. I think they are well worth the money.

2

Not for powerful chewers

By: - Ontario, Canada May 21, 2008

My Bullmastiff started pulling chunks off of this toy within 15minutes of playing. But she LOVES it!! So if, in the future, you make a truly indestructible version I will be a customer. In its current version, it is not for powerful chewers.

5

Sable Proof!

By: Laura - Kenosha, WI May 10, 2008

We have two Rotties and a St. Bernard. Our female Rot is the biggest toy destroyer on the planet! I am talking, obsessive chewing, here. Since we discovered the WestPaw Zogoflex toys, she hasn't been able to to chew through them. She loves the Hurley, and is still attempting to "kill" it.

The only thing she was able to do was to get the WestPaw paw logo off the Hurley. Other than that, it is as perfect as the day we bought it- two months ago. These are the only toys that we can trust the dogs to have when we aren't around, because we know now that they are super safe.

Since purchasing our first Hurley, we now own all the designs, and at least one of each for each of the dogs! Thanks WestPaw!

2

Not the best toy

By: - MN May 07, 2008

We bought this toy for our Corgi, and our German shorthair to share. The German Shorthair had it chewed apart within a 1/2 hour and had chunks off. I don't recommend it for powerful chewers.

Mrs.

By: Erin - California Apr 23, 2008

When I found this website for a dog toy that was guaranteed to be strong I was excited that my Pit Bull would finally have a toy he couldn't chew apart. I gave him the Hurley and it didn't even last 5 minutes. I don't recommend the Hurley for strong dogs, its not worth the time to send it back and get a replacement because it will just be torn apart again!

Incredible Chew Toy!! I bought a hurley & a huck at a dog show in California 3 years ago for my two Golden Retrievers. They are very heavy chewers and they often play tug of war with their hurley. They have not put one dent in either toy!!! Thank you for a wonderful product!!

5

Unbelievable!

By: Kris - PA Apr 06, 2008

My Daschund puppy can destroy any toy in 5 minutes, so I searched for something on-line that would survive his teeth! He loves his Hurley, and has been working on it for a week now. Great product!

5

Finally

By: - Chicago Apr 01, 2008

My Flat-Coated Retriever Hurley loves his Hurley toy. I also recently bought the Huck. These are the only toys, so far, that he hasn't destroyed in a matter of minutes and he is a big chewer. Thank you West Paws for coming out with something that my dog loves and is environmentally friendly as well. I look forward to you expanding your selection so Hurley can have more play toys.

5

best

By: sara parkingson - china Mar 26, 2008

I thought this toy was the best i have a 1 year old shnoodle and he can destruct things in a matter of seconds i was so frustrated with all the toys that were said to be strong but weren't so i tried one more time to find the best toy and as i was reading a magazine (MODERN DOG) and saw the toy there so i went to my local pet store and found it. and this time i didn't have to buy my dog a toy for another 12 months cause thats all he wanted before bed at the dog park and more i also loved how it floats! and plus it is soo easy to clean i still continue to buy from this brand.

4

murray and hurley

By: Mack - Murray Utah Mar 16, 2008

Our 85 lb yellow lab can destroy anything in minutes. The only two things we have found that she doesn't chew through is fire hose and the hurley. She loves her hurley and has chewed on it for hours without a mark. We recently bought the frisbee because we were so impressed with this.

5

Great for chewers

By: Anne - Elkton, MD Mar 04, 2008

My dog Chesapeake bay and an avid chewer. This toy was perfect for her because it floats and really is virtually indestructible. It took several years of being chewed, thrown in the pool, and being left outside in the winter for her to be able to destroy it. I just need them to make a ball with a bell in it now that she has lost her sight.

1

Indestructable???

By: Randy - New York Mar 03, 2008

After reading all these wonderful reviews I thought I had found the perfect toy for my 1 year old mixed pitbull. 10 minutes out of the mailbox and one end chewed almost off with large chunks falling off.

5

Dog's love it

By: Petrice - Grand Cayman Feb 17, 2008

I am attending Veterinary Medical school in Grand Cayman. I purchased a Hurley for our three dogs yesterday at a Humane Society fundraiser...I did not think it could possible last longer than a couple of hours. So far we've had it for 24 hours, and the dogs have played tug-o-war with it, chewed on it and it is still in one piece. I can't believe it. Then to add to my surprise, imagine when I found out your toys were made in Montana...and I'm a Montana Native, from the Bitterroot Valley. Yeah for a company from Montana that makes such awesome products. I will reccomend your toys to many classmates.

5

The Toughest Toy EVER!

By: Clint - Kansas City Feb 17, 2008

My dogs are in love with their Hurley - and, unlike everything else, it has lasted more than an hour. (about a week now-a record) I have a Mastiff/Lab Mix that loves to fetch, chew and play tug of war with my Bassett/Dalmation, and our Great Dane, and a Miniature Dachshund that shreds everything to pieces with his sharp little teeth. To date though, the Hurley is still completely intact. This toy is amazing!

5

Provo Proof!

By: Susan Westwater - Chicago, IL Jan 26, 2008

I bought a large Hurley from our local pet supply shop. Our 50 lb mix, Provo had destroyed many of the toys they carry that the staff started using him as a "tester" for their chew toys. I can't tell you how many times I had come home hopeful a new toy would last only to find it in pieces 15 minutes later. I was bringing back a shredded Level 8 Tiger Tested ring when they recommended Hurley. I liked the weight of it and thought the simple design would have a chance. That was about a year ago. There are a few "divots" in the end but Provo has not ruined this toy. He loves to play with it. Thanks for making a great product!

3

Not indestructible but.....

By: Nancy - WI Jan 24, 2008

My 100 lb. black lab, Sherman can begin chewing a large size Kong to pieces within one minute. I tried a Hurley just to see how long it would last. It took him 3 days to get his first piece off. I'm still searching for the chew toy that will stand up to aggressively aggressive chewing. I gave it a 3 because it DID last for 3 days after all.

5

Best Toy in our House!

By: Sonja - Yorba Linda, CA Jan 21, 2008

We have two Labs, and neither are destructo-dogs, but they do like to chew and can cause damage to toys that weren't meant to be chewed on! The appeal of the Hurley for us was to have a fun chew toy that can be moved from house to crate to field to house, then be used as a pool toy, and be moved straight back to the house. I say it's the best toy in our house because it's the only toy we have that floats, doesn't get sloppy in the pool, it stays relatively clean AND the dogs can have a good chew on it without tearing it up!

5

NOT JUST FIVE STARS! IT'S A 10!

By: - Newberg, OR Jan 11, 2008

My Scottie loves it! Also, it is almost the only chew toy he has kept for longer than a few minutes. The other ones that have passed the first few minutes test really aren't played with much. This bone is chewed on, tossed, chewed on, bounced on the ground and caught on the rebound, chewed on, brought for play with a human, chewed on, carried all over, chewed on, slept with as a pillow, and, did I mention that he CHEWS ON IT? He has had it for two months and it doesn't have a mark on it.

He has both sizes, but definitely prefers the smaller one.

5

LOVE IT!!

By: Meg - Palm Bay, FL Jan 08, 2008

I bought a hurley and a zisc a few months back for my year and a half old chocolate lab, who can, and will, destroy every toy I bring into my house. That was until I found an article in a magazine aboutWest Paw Design, and figured, why not try'em. After about 6 months and tons of playtime, my lab and new lab/border collie mix puppy have yet to destroy these toys. I LOVE THEM! They have so much fun and the toys last. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING TOYS MY DOGS CAN ENJOY AND NOT CHEW UP!!!

4

Great for smaller dogs?

By: Rick - Las Vegas Jan 07, 2008

I have a Rotty and an English Bulldog. My Rotty never had a toy longer than a few hours, even the Kong toys. This one actually lasted her 3 days before she started biting the end off. It could probably last her another day or 2 before she gets the other end, but I don't want her eating it.
My Bulldog on the other hand, I don't think she could have damaged it.

hurley and huck

By: gail govoni - desert sky canine - glendale az Jan 06, 2008

I've read the comments about the hurley and the huck, and frankly I don't believe some of the comments. I have a Malinois, shepherd and a presa canario. Let me tell you that these three dogs are chewers. These two toys were given to us by a friend that owns a pet store. my husband and I were looking at the toys and explaining to her how we really haven't found too many toy that our dogs can't destroy. She gave us these two items free of charge and told us that we wouldn't believe how our dogs are going to love these and that they are pretty tough. They're still chewing and enjoying. Thanks for such a great product. Rhino, Jax and liesel thank you too.

5

Excellent Product!!!

By: Linda - Maryland Jan 04, 2008

The Hurley is the absolute best and most indestructable toy my English Springer Spaniel and Standard Poodle have ever received. They are both extremely aggressive chewers and have destroyed everything that crosses their paths--Kongs, the toughest Nylabone products, etc. Hurley happily survives and provides constant chewing pleasure. What a fantastic product!

4

Durable and Fun but Destroyable

By: - Texas Jan 02, 2008

My 18 pounds, 1 year old beagle is a little shark. She destroyed every toy that I got for her (from tuffies to any rough toy in stores). She had to work on Hurley for 20 minutes before she could make the first dent. Also, with all her previous toys after a first dent, she could tear the whole toy apart from the dent. With Hurley, she is able to rip small pieces off of it now but it takes hard work from her. Although it was disappointing that she could make dents on it and rip small pieces, the fact that the toy is still safe to play with (she cant tear large pieces!!) is great. Also, she is very picky about rubber toys, she usually doesnt like them but she loved Hurley's material. I'd recommend this toy to all strong chewers.

5

AWESOME

By: Diana Correa - Parker,AZ Jan 02, 2008

I have a dog that is half Rott & Lab. He destroyed all the toys, even Kong in minutes. We have had our Hurley now for 4 years and still not a scratch on it. Recommend it to any owner of dogs. They are great. Four paws to your company.

2

Not strong enough

By: - Dec 31, 2007

I bought this toy after hearing rave reviews-- unfortunately, it lasted a few hours before my Samoyed was pulling off little chunks. Later that night he was chewing while we watched TV and he bit both ends off.

2

10 Minute toy

By: Meghan - Pittsburgh, PA Dec 30, 2007

After reading the excellent reviews I ordered the large size for my 1-year old, 55 lb. Doberman mix. After 10 minutes, half of the toy was chewed into pieces! I was hoping this was more durable than the average toy but I was disappointed.

2

Rhodesian Ridgeback

By: - Texas Dec 19, 2007

I haven't been able to find a dog toy that will last my 1 yr old 120lb Ridgeback. It normally takes him 30 seconds to destuff a plush toy. He has had the Hurley for about 2 months now but it's completely destroyed. The end is all that is left. I am constantly picking up little pieces of rubber from around the house. The first dent took him about 30 minutes to make. I'd recommend this toy for any of the smaller dogs (less than 100 lbs)

5

Best Find Ever!

By: Robert Clayton - San Marcos Texas Dec 14, 2007

My father found a large Hurley floating in a pond when he was playing golf. Since he is dog-less, he gave it to me for my 2 year old English cocker spaniel. She is a retrieving machine and loves this toy. No one in my family can go outside without her picking it up and bringing it over so we can play! I like it so much, I'm giving my father in law one for Christmas.

5

Survivable

I bought this toy at a retailer, it was the best dog toy investment I've ever made. My Boston terrier and Lab annihilate EVERY other toy I've given them, including "kongs." They LOVE the hurley on top of it's survivability; they've even played tug-o-war with it and it's remained intact. Excellent product!

Amazing for chewers!

By: Jillian - Elgin, IL Nov 30, 2007

I have 2 70lb labs that can tear apart a rubber tire in 5 minutes, and this toy lasted for over 1 year before they made a dent in it. I LOVE these products. The ball (Huck) has lasted 2 years now!

Not tough enough for my dog!

By: Jess - Fort Leonard Wood, MO Nov 30, 2007

I have a 110 pound American Staffordshire Terrier. It is the larger version of the Pit Bull or Bull Terrier. He chews through toys in a matter of seconds. This toy lasted him about 8 minutes. Granted this is 7 minutes longer than any other toy it was still a disappointment. He is just too large and his jaws are incredibly strong. He held this toy between his paws and pulled up on it with his massive jaws and it just snapped. It would be great for any dog smaller than he is.

Didn't make it!

By: Stan - Orangevale, CA Nov 28, 2007

Thought I would give it a try after reading all the hype. My Chesapeake destroyed it in less than a day.
Wasn't worth the cost of shipping to use the replacement policy ..........

Lab proof!

By: Amelia - Florida Nov 21, 2007

Other than a Kong, this is the only toy my lab has not destroyed. When I first saw it I thought this thing is a goner, but she hasn't even managed to put a tooth mark in it and has had it over a month now.
I will be buying more toys like the Hurley!

Cairn Terrier Proof

By: Melinda - Virginia Nov 10, 2007

We bought the Hurley in July 2007, and it's still in perfect condition after a lot of use. It does not even have teeth marks or missing chunks. Our dog loves this toy from playing tug of war to fetch, this toy has a been fabulous! I'm actually up on the website to buy the smaller version for a Christmas gift.

Awesome for Any Dog

By: - Memphis, TN Nov 09, 2007

I have a 1 year old dacshund who loves toys that he can really chew on. I was kind of worried that he would lose interest in a toy that he wouldnt be able to destroy (like all his others), but i was totally wrong. He loves it so much and can't get enough of it.. (he even slept with it the first night <3). I strongly recommend this for anyone who has a dog who likes to get a good bit a chew-action in with their toys. Not only does this seem like it will last Archie a while, but Ive heard theyre great for big dogs as well.

Hurley

By: Lori - North Carolina Oct 26, 2007

I was in an upscale pet store and inquired what was their toughest toy for my Rhodesian Ridgeback. Unfortunately, she shred it in no time but have to admit she had a lot of fun in those 30 minutes.

Best on the market

By: - Aug 08, 2007

Almost indestructible! It has taken my Lakeland Terrier two swimming seasons (this is her pool toy) to destroy. She dispatches other "indestructible" floating toys (made of rubber, heavy canvas or fire hose) in minutes or at best hours. Can you make a squeak toy from this material? She was given one by a friend of hers and I am reordering three (one in each color). Sincerely, Larry Wickert

Hurley Dog Toy

By: - Jul 17, 2007

I have an American Pit Bull Terrier and a Lab and Chow mix which i have brought a lot of toys in the 5 years i have had them. They destroy everything in two seconds. When i got this in the mail i gave it to them and i have never seen them play with a toy like this before. They acted like puppies. This is one of the best dog toys i have ever purchased. Kudo's to whomever invented this.

Disappointed

By: - Jul 10, 2007

After readnig all the reviews I was excited to find a dog toy that would last so I ordered one. I just recieved it in the mail yesterday afternoon and my dog loved it. BUT when I went to check up on him with his new toy he had bit one of the ends off already and was working on the other side. Overall I was very disappointed because I really thought this toy would last more then a day.

2 German Shepherds and a Doberman Pinscher

By: - Jul 09, 2007

This toy is "tuff enuff" to withstand the chewing of 2 German Shepherd Dogs and a very destructive Doberman Pinscher. If you may not know, some GSD's are capable of chewing through a chainlink fence, not that mine could (I hope). My wife and I found this toy while vacationing in St. Thomas and liked it so much we are going to sell them in our pet store in Gloucester, VA.

seriously.believe the tag line- my dogs LOVE this chewie and it

By: - Jul 05, 2007

My two dogs (boxer/pit mix and Plott hound) LOVE this Hurley Chew bone. They tear apart nylon bones and other rubber chewies, but this one is waaaaaaaaaay better than the pack. Lots of bouncy chew action for them and they keep coming back to it time and again and NO chips in it, no pieces off, no damage! Amazing! Keep up the good work.

Best Toy Ever

I want to thank you so much for making the first toy my 1 1/2 year old German Shepherd, Whoopy, hasn't destroyed. She has eaten so many "durable toys" and reguritated them weeks later in multiple 1-1/2 inch chunks. Your Hurley Bone is the ONLY toy that I have found that is safe for her to play with. She has constantly played with, chewed on and retreived this bone for more than 3 months now without any wear and tear.

Large Hurley Dog Toy

By: - May 16, 2007

HOLY COW!!!!....I accidently ran across this toy and it stated it was practically indestructible...We have a pit bull that has yet to have any toy (except a "Kong") last more than 5 minutes.....she however has no interest in the kong...we have spent a fortune in 1 1/2 years on chew toys and bones for her searching for one that REALLY does last......well we've found it......the hurley does last much longer than anything else we've found.....i still can't figure out how such a flexible soft material hasn't been chewed into a zillion pieces already but it hasn't......think it's frustrating my dog as she won't stop gnawing on it......bet she's wondering "what the heck" too.....well needless to say I will be ordering many more of these wonderful creations.....thank you so much whoever invented this!!!!

Absolutely the best!

By: - Apr 07, 2007

My beagle/sheltie mix has chewed every toy in the store. He has had abdominal surgery after he ate the braiding off his dog bed.

He loves to chew but nothing was safe. Everything marked indestructable was very destructable. EXCEPT

The West Paw Hurley and Huck. These are the only toys he can have - the only ones he does not destroy in 10 minutes. I cannot recommend them high enough.

Thank you for making these toys. By the way, Jake is blind so the design of the toy helps him chase them all over the house. He can hear them roll and loves pouncing on them.

Hurley survives a "Mac attack"!!!

By: - Jan 15, 2007

Our Golden Retriever, Mac, can chew up ANYTHING and very few toys last more than a few mintues in his presence. That was until we bought him a Hurley at Two Dogs Dancing in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. He LOVES his Hurley bone and seems to be fascinated by the challenging chewing it offers him. Thanks West Paw for making a toy that can survive a Mac attack!! :-)

Best so far!!

By: - Nov 25, 2006

While I can't say this is indestructable for my American Bulldog, it has lasted the longest out of all the dog toys that claim to last. This bone certainly gave him a challenge and it took almost a week for him to get a nick in it and about a month before he had it in pieces. I would say it's worth the money just for lasting a month and giving him something to do and to work on for that long. Most things are lucky to last a few days or even one night. We've tried them all too, and dog toys are not cheap. This is definitely the best so far and highly recommended and worth the money! We definitely took advantage of a getting a one time replacement as well and got an email response saying we were one of the few that had a dog able to destroy it!

300 days and counting

By: Janice Davidson - Nov 06, 2006

My year and a half old dog has not only destroyed every squeeky toy purchased, literally within five minutes or less, but has even destroyed our shoes, sweaters and socks. Your industructible bone (blue) is the only toy ever to withstand the test of time. Every day we have fun playing without the worry of losing another toy or a trip to the emergency room due to ingested pieces. Jax's bone has lasted 300 plus days and counting. We look forward to your additional products. Thanks! - Jax, Janice and Jim

The Best Dog Chew Ever

By: Tiffany Roberts - Sep 13, 2006

This is the first toy my 2 dogs and brothers 3 dogs have not been able to destroy. I figure if a pit-bull and lab can't destroy it then we have a winner. This is the best toy ever. I have had this for at least 6 months, my dogs chew on this every day, and it does not have one tooth mark. The best thing is when they drop it the pool it doesn't sink...Yeah, I love the Hurley!!!

Greatest toy material!

By: Olga Pechony - Aug 10, 2006

I have two toys made from Zogoflex - the Huck and the Hurley. My black lab chews them for about a year now and they are still as good as new!

These toys are light-weight, colorful and truly indestructible.

I have a Zisc now on my list.

A very special thanks to people who developed this material!

Bull Terrier Proof!

By: Nadine Robards - Jun 19, 2006

Luigi loves this bone... it is his absolute favorite. That said, it gets lots of chewing time. There is not a tooth mark on it. This from a boy who can shred a Nylabone and chew hunks out of a Galileo! I am sold! I have turned so many of my friends on to this bone! BUY ONE!

Four paws up!

By: - May 26, 2006

I found this toy for my 11 month old foster rottie, and while she can chew and destroy pretty much anything in her path, this Hurley bone has stood up to her repeated attempts at destruction. Kongs? HA - not a chance with her! She carries her lime green Hurley bone pretty much everywhere - because one never knows when the urge to chew might pop up!

Indestructible

By: Paul Bennett - May 17, 2006

My dog has destroyed every toy that claims to be "Guaranteed to last." When I spoke to the pet store owner about this, I was skeptical because it didn't seem any different than other toys I've bought for my Labrador, Shadeaux. She's a very aggressive and determined chewer. She's destroyed Kongs before.

I gave her this toy and she chewed on it for 3 hours before falling asleep. The toy survived and when she woke up this morning, it was the first thing she looked for.

This is a great toy and I will be back for other toys made from this material.

Hurley

By: - Mar 20, 2006

My dog enjoys this toy very much. I finally found a toy that my dog cannot tear apart. (I have a black laborador.) I highly suggest this toy. He plays with it all the time and does not have a tooth mark on the toy. Great material!!!
