TOY
the bumi zogo flex from west paw was chewed up in one day into 4 pieces.our puppy is 9 mos. old and is catahoula and lab mix. she does love her bone we also bought she hides it then looks for it
Awesome toys ,
Awesome toys pretty much indestructible .. Who would have thought two little wiener dogs can destroy all toys from petco , even the most expensive.. My only complaint is the xsmall tizzy breaks chunks off .. The big one does not just the tiny one! Thanks west paw
Woohoo, we got the pink one just in time!!
I love West Paw Design products!! I recently ordered the Hurley for my grand dog to play with at my son's new apartment. She loves it, but the funny thing is...she is more obsessed with the free toy inside. It's a big fuzzy bone with a squeaker in it. (Um...that didn't last long. She dissected it out of the toy, but kept toy intact.) She carries it with her. The last time I was visiting, she had the fuzzy bone and the Hurley by her side. She showed Grammy her new bone as soon as I walked in, but made sure to have both toys with her when she finally relaxed on her dog bed. Her parents say that she always has that bone in her mouth. So cute. I recommend WPD products all the time. For an aggressive chewer like my 80 lb. granddaughter, the guaranteed products rock!
So far, I'm impressed.
My dog will destroy most bones. She loved the Hurley and has been working on this one for about a week and so far, so good. I hope that I'm not jinxing it by writing this review!
My dogs love this!
My strong chewing, 110 pound Weimaraner, and my ridiculously aggressive chewing Golden Retriever both LOVE this bone! Ollie, the Golden, loves to chase it when we throw it for him, then carry it around in his mouth for hours, stopping occasionally to gnaw on it. Zeke, out Weimaraner, loves to just hold it in his paws and chew away on it, and boy, both of them can really chew on toys! Both dogs usually destroy their toys in a matter of days, (Ollie in a matter of minutes, sometimes), but all 3 of the products that we have bought from West Paws Designs have held up perfectly; it's been 3 months so far, and there is barely a tooth mark on any of them. We have the large Jive ball, the large Hurley bone, and the Tux, which we use as a training tool for Ollie, stuffing it with peanut butter when we leave the house. He loves it!
I only wish I could purchase the products locally. I have asked out local pet supply store to look into carrying your products, and hope they are able to soon!
AMAZING buy!
We have a rot/pit mix and a chiweenie that tear through toys ridiculously fast. We were buying new chew toys at least every week that cost $3-$10 a toy per week per pet and it seemed like a never-ending battle trying to keep toys in the house for them. After doing some research we thought we'd give these toys a try and it was the best decision ever. We bought the mini hurley for our 12 lb. chiweenie and the large one for our 65 lb pit mix. It has been 4 months now of daily chewing and fetching and they are intact except for a few bite marks on the ends. The dogs LOVE these toys! Worth spending a little more money to have toys that last. We will definitely stick with West Paw toys, especially now that we found them at our local Pet Supplies Plus store and won't have to pay shipping!
Not for strong chewers!
My American bulldog mix destroyed the Hurley in about 10 minutes, if even. A million pieces everywhere! She is a very strong chewer and we have yet to find anything besides a black Kong that she can't destroy. The Hurley couldn't handle her.
hurley
Well it is not his favorite. But it is made of the same durable material as his others, which he has not been able to destroy yet.
So far so good
I have a maltese poodle mix that destroys most toys within a few minutes including a variety of other toys labeled "indestructible". We have had this toy for a month and the only sign of wear is one very tiny puncture spot. I didn't find this toy to be any more expensive than any of the others meant for chewers, but I feel like I'm getting my money's worth with this one. This is my first purchase from this brand, and I will definitely be looking to buy more from them in the future.
Not designed for chewers
I have a hound/pit mix and she is a chewer. She can chew through pretty much anything. I was hoping this product would be different. I bought several different west paw items and this is the one she took the most liking to. Unfortunately she was eating plastic within 45 minutes and I had to take it away. I will be getting the refund for this product. If you have light to moderate chewers, this product may be great for your dogs but if you have a real chewer, this item fails like most.
The indestructible Green Bone
Gilardino, our Golden Retriever has loved his green bone (the Hurley, size large) for years now. He chews on it regularly, and loves to plop it into the swimming pool, then watch it while the wind/currents carry it around, then, when it gets close enough to the side, he grabs it out again. He will chase it forever, but resists giving it back to us so we can throw it again. He is clearly conflicted between keeping the Green Bone to himself and giving it up so we can throw it and he can chase it again. It is an all-purpose toy, the best we have found. By far.
So far, my pup hasn't been
So far, my pup hasn't been able to make a dent in her toy. Usually after 2 weeks most of her toys show signs of breaking down. I would buy more of these products for heavy chewers again for sure!
Not as durable as advertised
Our 10 month old austrlian shepherd puppy chewed through Kong Extreme toys so the Petco Unleashed store rep recommended the West Paw products. We bought a small Hurley bone for $11. After less than one week of limited chewing time, the puppy was able to chew off progressive larger chunks of the bone. I added an extra star only because of West Paw's money back guarantee.
Awesome Toy
I bought this toy and kept the receipt as I KNEW I would get to have the company make good on their guarantee! Well a year pasted and the toy is still in great shape. Oh the dog loves it, she plays with it, but an Australian Cattle Dog can literally destroy and anvil! She has destroyed every toy I have ever bought her EXCEPT this one! She love it! I love it because the pliable material is easy on her mouth and teeth, she can chew it, it bounces (she loves to jump for it) and it has really lasted. I love it so much I bought her another one to carry in the car for our walks. I recommend this to all my friends that have ACD's or other dogs that tend to destroy all those 'tough' toys out there!
So far, so good
My dog tears everything up..including the Kong toys (the last one made it 35 minutes) and so far this bone has lasted 2 weeks without a scratch! Its great for playing fetch and he carries it everywhere with him. Love it!
Hurley
Honey, our Golden Retriever, loves retrieving her new small Hurley and I love that it's shape and small size fits perfectly in my pocket on our long walks. We're saving the bigger Hurley for lake retrieves in warmer weather.
Finally found a toy she couldn't destroy
Love the Hurley, I bought toy after toy of all kinds of material and 8 month old yellow puppy destroyed everyone within a day. Found the Hurley and its been 3 weeks and there isn't a scratch and she loves it. Great in the water and fun to throw because it bounces. Great buy. Will be buying more products from West Paw
My dog Mya is an energetic
My dog Mya is an energetic boxer pit bull mix. Many toys, especially squeaky toys, would be chewed a part within 1 hour. Her most durable toys are her Kong and a deer antler that she can gnaw on for hours if I let her. But we are getting her to swim and I wanted something that could float but was also tough. So far she loves her Hurley and will fetch with it or just sit and chew if the mood strikes. The one thing that I noticed right away is that her back teeth will rip small tears into the middle section of the toy. It hasn't completely severed but I anticipate that happening. I will utilize the 1 time exchange if needed and have thought about getting a second west paw toy. I like that they are fully recyclable.
Keep up the good work!!
Poor Quality
Save your money my 13 month Staffordshire destoryed the 2 I purchased within minutes.
Tux and Hurley
I have seen a lot of reviews; most of them complimentary. West Paw states the toys are virtually indestructible. I know that the Hurley and the Tux stand up quite well (about one year) to my Pit/Lab mix and my American Bulldog. Both are now two and a half years old. Quite honestly, the Bumi (?) didn't fare too well between the two of them tugging on it but it lasted over two months.
Someone mentioned inflated prices. Well, the price is pretty high for a DOG TOY but when I consider the prices of purchasing up to four Kongs within a month, the price of the West Paw Design toys are well worth it. Quite honestly, I was spending over $60 a month on dog toys elsewhere.
I also like the fact that you can return toys and they will recycle them.
Customer support is very good.
I have told many friends about these dog toys and they have purchased toys as well. Some of them had the toys destroyed within 6 months (oh my goodness!) but they tried other toys and they have these toys years later.
I am extremely grateful to have found West Paw Designs.
Took my puppy 15 minutes to destroy.
My 11 month old super chewer lab got this as an early b-day present and had a marble-sized chunk out in less than 15 minutes. Very disappointing, since I read all the reviews of power chewers still going at it after months... My little lab puppy it seems has a stronger chew than a pitbull... whodda thought, right?
Took her an hour to destroy the Tux toy... As I type this, she's chewing on the Zogoflex ball... we'll see if that fares any better...
Lasted for over 4 years - still going strong
We have had this for over 4 years, and it is still in one piece. Our dog (jack russell terrier/dachshund mix) usually destroys toys in a matter of days, even the ones for tough chewers. This is one of her favorite toys. We are about to adopt another dog, and will be buying one of these for our new dog.
False Promise
My Doberman destroyed this toy in less than and hour. There were large punctures in the toy minutes after giving it to him. I figured this toy would last longer than an hour considering its ridiculous price. More money wasted on a companies false promise.
Hurley
My dog is a 1 year old lab. He had chunks chewed out of this toy in a matter of 15 minutes. In fact, right out of the package when I just slightly bent the toy by hand there were dozens of cracks visible in the material. VERY disappointed in this product and the advertising that led me to believe this was strong material. Waste of money.
indestructable
Our dog chews through everything quickly. We've had this for a month an its still as good as new. love it.
So far so good
My one year old catahoula chews through toys in 10 seconds flat. I bought this bone alost two months ago now,and (knock on wood) it look the exact same as it did the day it arrived in the mail! He plays with it for hours day in and day out. I was a little nervous to pay 15 dollard for one toy,i mean thats crazy, however,Best 15 dollars on a toy! Ordering him somemore and some balls as well!
Ideal replacement for the Nylabone
My labrador Guide Dog cracked a tooth on a Nylabone , and after the tooth was removed, The dental vet tech suggested getting rid of all her Nylabones and replacing them with Hurlys. The large Hurly was an immediate hit. While she doesn't gnaw on it continuously, she absolutely loves it! It's the go-to toy when someone rings the doorbell, when she decides that it's time to play fetch or tug and sometimes she just carries it around the house.
Stands up to the puppy test!
One of my puppies (9 months old) is a heavy chewer and pretty much tears up any toy I've given her. The Hurley has taken on her teeth and has won! Thanks for this!
Hurley rubber bines Rock!
We first learned of these rubber bones when we had our Doberman. Unfortunately, he passed and the bone was put away. We then got a Bull Terrier and then another. These two have a huge chewing habit. The original bone had some wear but lasted two years. It was so mangled I couldn't see who made it.
I didn't know where to get the Hurley and didn't even know what they were called so I purchased a substitute at a local chain pet supply store. Ten minutes after giving it to our male Emmett , it was destroyed. We took it back for a full refund.
The hunt was on for the elusive long lasting toy. I spent some time online and stumbled upon West Paw. I was so excited to see them and promptly ordered two. We waited and watched for their arrival.
The day they arrived was like Christmas. We let them have both and it has been party central every night. They play with them together and it is a riot. I will be ordering more soon so that we always have a supply on hand.
Thank you from Minnie, Emmett and their mom, Laura
Best chew toy for very aggressive chewer
This is best chew toy for our dog. She loves it! She destroys every toy she gets and she only has a few teeth marks in this. Any other toy would have been destroyed by now and we have it over a week now!
