So worth it!!

By: Voxann - Texas Mar 01, 2012

Seriously... this product is the toughest I've ever owned for my dog. She LOVES the toy and is unable to destroy it. She has destroyed many other toys and I had felt frustrated, wasting my money on new toys. I had googled out of despair, trying to find the toughest toy out there. All the toys at petsmart or petco is really crappy! I came across this website and after reading all those reviews, I felt it should be worth it. Thank you so much for your great reviews that helped me feel confident in purchasing this great product!!

West Paw Toy Review

By: Adrianne - Jackson, MS Feb 26, 2012

Rusty (a Golden Retriever mix) loves all 3 of the toys I got for him from West Paw. Sometimes he can't make up his mind which one he wants to chew on so all 3 are being chewed on/played with simultaneously.

"The Tux"

By: Al Esposito - Amherst, NY, !4228 Feb 13, 2012

It took my Jack Russel about a week and half to start the demise of the toy. That being said it is the longest lasting toy he has ever had. I am not in favor of shipping it back cuz I'd like to see how long it does last. Would you suggest another style??????? He weighs in at 25#. Thanks AL

AMAZING

By: Anonymous - northern kentucky Feb 06, 2012

Sophie destroyed every toy within 15 minutes - she has had the TUX for 2 weeks and hasn't made a mark on the thing. Would love more items in the same material.

It does the trick.

By: labowner - Providence, RI Feb 05, 2012

This is the only toy besides the black Kong that our dog does not chew through on the first go-round. It is the perfect size to fill with peanut butter and treats. I have several, which I fill ahead of time and pop into the freezer. I never worry about this toy.

Satisfied the Monster

By: Bob and Jessie - Milwaukee, Wisconsin Jan 29, 2012

Like most chocolate lab puppies, our 10 month old destructo-saurus rex only knows one way to play with a toy: mercilessly disembowel it. We have been through dozens of toys, many of which met their untimely demise within just a few minutes. I was skeptical when we handed her the Tux, but its been two whole weeks - the longest we have ever had any toy - and there still arent any significant signs of wear. She chews it and carries it around constantly, and especially likes when we stuff a treat in the bottom and toss it for her. Were already talking about buying another one so there can always be one waiting in the freezer with peanut butter in it!

Love this toy

By: Katie - Prescott Valley, AZ Jan 27, 2012

Love this toy!! I have two dogs, one who is a pit bull mix that manage to destroy any toy I buy them in less than an hour. I got this toy as a Christmas present for them and it is still in perfect condition. I am a fan of you guys and will only be getting my toys from there. I also love that they float and are dishwasher safe. Thanks for the great product!!!

Not quite tough enough

By: Bruno - 3 yr old Pitt/Boxer - Central Pennsylvania Jan 24, 2012

I thought we had finally found a toy for our 3 yr old Pitt/Boxer. Unfortunately after a couple hours of chewing, he got to the point where he was ripping large chunks off that posed a chocking hazard and we had to take it away. I don't thinkthe Zogoflex toys are quite as strong as the Kong Extreme brand, as that still seems to be the only thing that holds up for more than a few hours.

Amazing!!

By: Jenn Petrusha - Magna, Ut Jan 23, 2012

This thing is AWESOME. Chaco is a PitBull/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. Safe to safe - he is a CHEWER!! His first WestPaw toy was the Bumi - he adored it. But he got the ends chewed off in about a week or so. He has been slowly whittling it down over the last year. I saw the Tux and thought we would give it a try. I think what makes it perfect is that it's the Zogoflex design - but solid end pieces. He can chew and chew but because he can't get his jaw around it - it's holding up and he loves it!! He tried to use it like a tennis ball but it doesn't quite have the same 'bounce' lol.

We are a West Paw family now and love your product!!

Trillion times stronger than a kong

By: Sam - Bozeman, MT Jan 22, 2012

My 25lb. Jack Russel/King Charles mutt can chew through the burliest Kong toys in minutes, so I was skeptical when I first brought the Tux home. This toy is FANTASTIC! The first one he had took him months of consistent chewing to make a dent in. I got him a new one and, try as he might, it's still hanging tough. I think the shape is really smart because he can't get tiny little nippy bites on it, which is usually how he tears things apart. I will continue to buy these and I hope they'll always be in production!

High hopes shot down

By: Kyle Helms - Middle Tennessee Jan 08, 2012

I bought this having high hopes due to all the great comments on this product. After less than one hour, my 10 month old beagle/american pointer mix, had already started ripping off chunks from the nubs. My hopes were that this toy would be able to stand his constant desire to chew. After one week the toy is still intact but all 3 nubs have been chewed down by half. I give it 3 stars but will be sending back for a replacement.

So far so good

By: Anonymous - ohio Jan 03, 2012

I just bought this for my two dogs for christmas. We have one who wants to chew everything to shredds!! I have faith this toy will withstand his chewing for the long haul, it seems tough!

A great dog toy

By: Annette - Pittsburgh, PA Jan 02, 2012

After our 9-month old German Wirehaired Pointer destroyed her umpteenth chew toy, I search the web for an "indestructible" dog toy and the Tux popped up. I read the reviews and gave it a try. She loves it and has not destroyed it after 3 weeks. Other toys last only a few days with her. I think it's a keeper.

By: Steven Bayer - United States Dec 31, 2011

I was shopping online for a durable toy for my son's dog when I found West Paw. I ordered the Tux and it's been a great toy that my son can load with a snack that his dog enjoys.

Tux is very Tuff

By: JP - United States Dec 31, 2011

Our dogs usually DESTROY any new chew toy within a matter of hours. Tux has withstood the test of time (and teeth), not even a mark on him yet! We put some kibble or peanut butter instead and keeps the occupied, it also bounces all kinds of crazy so our Corgie loves it! Highly recommend!

Shipping was super fast, during the Christmas holiday rush to boot!

Best dog toys!

By: Ashley - Boston, MA Dec 28, 2011

Our dog has yet to put a dent in his awesome new toys and we have a little guy who can gut a stuffed animal in less than a minute. They are durable and he really loves playing with them!

The best toy EVER!!!!!!

By: Kathy Stearn - Palm Bay, FL Oct 20, 2011

This is the greatest toy EVER. The longest any other toy has lasted in one piece is 17 minutes, Marley, my PitBull has had his toy for 5 days and it is still in one piece. Marley loves the Hurley he has it all the time. I truly think this is the BEST>!!

Truly indestructible!

By: - Killingly, CT Oct 13, 2011

My boxer has destroyed EVERY toy I have ever given him. Within seconds of handing him a toy, it would be shred to pieces, even ones that claimed to be for aggressive chewers! I wasted lots of money. I am glad I did not give up, because the Tux I bought my pooch has remained intact for almost a year! Not one scratch, ding, or other signs of boxer teeth! The Tux washes clean and looks like new. I plan on buying more toys now that the Tux proved itself!

fantastic chew toy!

By: - Colorado Aug 05, 2011

We tried half a dozen chew toys for our 3 yr old,90lb. power-chewer. All the other toys were destroyed in very little time. The tux withstands hours of unsupervised chewing and play. Thank you for making truly indestructible chew toy!

Update

By: - Durham, NC Jun 20, 2011

Update on Nina, our 1-year-old lab/pitt mix; we took advantage of the one-time replacement guarantee (she chewed one of the "knobs" off in about a week.) Well, the replacement Tux arrived today, and she must have "learned" the best way to chew through the material the first time, because in less than an hour she had the toy completely torn apart. Slightly disappointed, but we are all too aware that there is no such thing as an "indestructible" dog toy!

Truly Remarkable

By: - Atlanta, GA May 27, 2011

My 2-year old chew monster Dozer (Corgi/Hound Mix) can kill a tennis ball in 10 minutes, and get through a 16" beef tendon in 40. I am truly impressed with this toy. He has had it for 3 months now, and did not put it down for the first 2 weeks! At present, it has one tiny tooth impression on it. One. He loves gnawing on it as-is, and goes nuts when we fill it with peanut butter and treats. It even survived a 24-hour tug-of-war play date with his new pit bull friend Sushi.

Very pleased with the product, and considering other items from the line for the future!

Nina loves it!!

By: - Durham, NC May 22, 2011

Our 1-year-old lab/pitt mix loves this toy! We've had it for about a week. She chews VERY aggressively and has already managed to chew off half of one of the knobs a little piece at a time, but it has lasted many times longer than most of her toys, which are in shreds within minutes. We will certainly be taking advantage of the one-time replacement guarantee.

The Only Chew Toy to Survive Maya & Frida's Jaws!

By: - Scottsdale, Arizona Mar 02, 2011

We have a 4 year old wire-haired Dachshund (Frida) and a 2 1/2 year old Pit Bull Terrier (Maya). Frida and Maya have destroyed, within an hour or two in most cases, every chew toy we have purchased. Even the Kong Extreme couldn't survive Frida's chewing. We have returned items to our local pet shop and the sales people just shake their heads in shock when they see the damage done by little Frida. Well, Frida and Maya have met their match in the Tux. We purchased two of these and had little hope they would survive our dynamic duo. Frida and Maya have had this toy now for 3 weeks, and except for surface scratches, the Tux has been practically invincible. (I am shocked that another reviewer's dog was able to chew off a piece of the Tux because if Maya and Frida couldn't do it, I didn't think any dog could.) Anyway, Frida and Maya just love the Tux. They play with it and chew it endlessly, and particularly love it when the inside is filled with yogurt and frozen. Yummy! The Tux gets our highest rating and we will now purchase other products in this line.

Best Toy EVER!

By: - Mar 02, 2011

Even though I have a little dog, he has destroyed every toy I have ever bought him even if it is labeled durable. This is the only toy he hasn't been able to destroy. He has had it for about 3 weeks now and there still isn't a tooth mark in it. If you have a tough chewer, this is the toy to go with!

A Pit Bull's New Love

By: - Phoenix, AZ Jan 04, 2011

This toy was given to our three-year-old Pit Bull, and it instantly became his favorite. After he had removed all the peanut butter we had stuffed it with, he chewed one of the nubs for ten hours straight, until he finally severed it from the rest of the Tux. While the toy is non-toxic, the large size of the piece would may have been an issue had it been swallowed whole. Luckily, he was merely proud of himself, and presented the piece to be promptly placed in the recycle bin. It has been four days so far, and he is completely content with the Tux. He chews it for 10-12 hours a day, and does a bee-line for it the moment he comes in the house. It is by far the most durable toy we've purchased, and the thoughtful efforts of West Paw make us wish to continue to support this company in the future.

Best Toy Ever!

By: - College Station, TX Nov 12, 2010

Received this as a "welcome" gift for our then 3 month old German Shepherd. For 2 years this was the gift that kept on giving. Our dog chewed on this thing all the time and only in the past month or so has it shown any sort of damage. It throws well (and bounces all over the place when it lands) and is a great toy for chewers. Have not tried it in the water yet (we don't want to lose it!).

Great buy for your dog!

It's a miracle!

By: - Nebraska Oct 10, 2010

I have never before reviewed a product, but given how long my pup's Tux has lasted, I feel obligated to do so. He's had it about two weeks now, which may not seem like long, but for my 3 year old Belgian Malinois and his jaws of toy death, it's a miracle! My dog is the type of chewer that many get rid of...in addition to many other destroyed belongings, he ate through 5 dog crates and he tore the flooring out of my entryway, starting in the middle and working his way out. So, when I say he's a tough chewer, I mean he's a TOUGH chewer. Typical chew toy life around our place (with just the one dog) is about 10 minutes to 1 day. His Extreme Kong Bone was in about 20 pieces before I even had the groceries unpacked after bringing it home. If a chew toy happens to last longer than that, it's because it is so large he's taking it apart chunk by chunk. Even the very hard plastic bones get whittled away in no time. I have NEVER had a toy that lasted in its ORIGINAL shape, until the Tux. My dog's Tux is still in the same shape it was in two weeks ago when he got it, and I never take it away from him. He has carried that little blue toy around with him all over every day since. He chases it, bounces it, and lays down and power gnaws on it...and it only has a few teeth marks!

The LICKY!

By: Nik - SF, CA Jul 20, 2010

Gotta give this a 5 star. I have a 'Maitau' Great Dane. This is THE toy. Safe, big and flexible. She chews it, she plays tug with it, fetch, sleeps with it. She cannot destroy it.

I wash it and give it to her and because she loves to lick it after dinner for about 10 minutes. It aides in her salivary enzyme production and thus her raw food is digested easier. (no data on that, it just what i believe)

She even brings it to me when I'm down. I love, love, love, this "Tux".
