Pet Age Magazine has announced its Pinnacle Awards - highlighting readers' favorite products of 2009. We are honored that our eco cat toys received the honor of "Readers' Favorite!" A big congratulations to the Recycled Retriever!  We saw the January Issue of Pet Age Magazine and loved reading the "Counter Intelligence" article that explained how the Recycled Retriever "Exemplifies several budget-friendly design ideas."  Their store looked great! We loved how they chose to keep with white walls and white fixtures allowing the product to be their "Splash of Color."  

Dog gifts was the topic on the recent Today Show. Dara Foster stopped by to cover the must have dog and puppy gifts.  It was obvious that Dara was saving the "best for last"- but they ran out of time!  Poor Owl and Dodo were sitting patiently on the counter, waiting to tell their story.  We'll, that's ok - all the true West Paw Design fans already know the story of Owl and Dodo - and all the other eco toys that were previously soda pop bottles in their past lives.  They live again, proud to be a dog toy in this life!

Kit's corner on page 23 of Bark Magazine is all about the "not so big" pup. So what makes Kit's corner so cozy... it is the dog bed from West Paw Design called a Bumper Bed^®. Who knew that a bed filled with IntelliLoft^® (recycled plastic bottles) could be so soft and comfy...

We thoroughly enjoyed the article "Put it to Bed" in the Pet Business October Issue. The article was written by Dan Headrick, who owns Wag Pet Boutique with his wife, Pam Guthrie, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dan explains that beds take up a lot of room in stores and are challenging to display, so they often get piled up in the back of stores. This gives the appearance of the beds as being "an after thought." No one wants to buy a bed at the bottom of a pile

Dog toys should be for fun, not harm! Julia Szabo of the New York Post reveals how some pet owners are spoiling their pets to death... quite literally. It is scary to think that as your dog or cat plays and chews on their toys that they could be licking and chewing toxic substances. We knew that owners needed to be careful, but we were even shocked to read that "One-quarter of pet products tested" were found to contain lead.

Living Green on LasVegasNow.com discovered West Paw Design at the pet industry tradeshow in Las Vegas called SuperZoo.  As you can see from the video, Sherry really fell in love with us... and I think the co-anchor might have actually shown a smidge of enthusiasm (hey -we can't all be balls of energy)!!
