Worst bed I've ever purchased.

June 21, 2013

When I was reading about this product it sounded great and I was really excited to be able to pick the colors of my dog's bed so that it would match the rest of our living room. After about a week of having the dog bed I was very disappointed. First off my dog doesn't like it. After forcing my dog to lay in the bed to try it out the cushions are already flat. Also I've washed the covers and the pillows. The pillows don't hold up to being washed without the covers on them. And both of the zippers are already broken. I've purchased dog beds that were only a fraction of the price of this bed and they lasted longer and my dog actually enjoyed them. I rarely review products but I wanted to let anyone know that was considering buying this bed NOT to buy it. Total waste of money. The dog toys are awesome but I will never purchase another pet bed and would advise everyone else to do the same.

Cushions don't hold up

November 05, 2012

My dog loved this bed when I first got it for him, but a year or so later, it's not so comfy. The center cushion seems to have deteriorated (despite being the only part of the bed that doesn't go through the washing machine) and is flattened and lumpy. We've both tried to fluff it up, but it's still not right.

Puppy has a ball with this bed

October 21, 2012

I wanted to buy a dog bed made in the USA, found this site, and loved the look of the bed, but it was the many positive reviews that made me decide to buy it. From the moment I put it on the floor, my little puppy has loved it. He goes running across the floor and takes a flying leap into it. He is in and out of it all the time. I've never seen a dog take to a bed like he has taken to this one. I am really happy with my purchase.

I purchased an extra large version of this bed for my dog about a year ago, and regrettably, I am disappointed.

When I bought the bed, I was a bit leery of the price (160 for XL), but I was attracted to the fact that it was made in the USA of recycled goods. The bed still looks wonderful, and I've enjoyed the attractive appearance from the get go. My dog liked it too.

The problem lies with the actual bedding - 1 yr after purchase the the thing is as flat as a pancake. My dog is choosing to sleep on the area rug instead; VERY atypical for him. I've tried to fluff the bedding and loosen up the clumps, but to no avail.

I'm now further disappointed to find the cost of a replacement pillow, after shipping, is 42 bucks. 160 for the bed, and now a yr later 42 dollars for a replacement part? No thanks. West Paw, I appreciate what you are trying to do for the planet, but I just can't afford to pay that much for a product when the function only lasts for a year. I'm going back to the 20 dollar Costco beds that last just as long, and that my dog loves just as much.

We LOVE this bed. I was so happy to find a sustainable product that looks great in my home, but the most important critic - our puppy Scooter - loves it because it is incredibly comfortable, cozy, and overall a delicious place for her to rest. Usually, I wish I could curl up beside her! FIVE STARS!!!

Our dogs love them

Both our dogs love to curl up in their beds. It's very easy to wash. I would recommend these beds.

Happy Lab

February 06, 2011

I bought this bed 6 years ago and my lab still loves it. He was somewhat picky, and didn't like the first dog bed I got him. He seemed to prefer to get on the couch where could lay his head on the throw pillow. This bed was a success. He likes to lay his head on the bolster, and likes to bunch up the inner pillow before laying down with his toy. I like that I can easily wash it. Other dogs that come over like it as well. The price was steep, but it was worth it. It has held up well and still looks good, not too much fading. I'm glad I bought it, and highly recommend it.

I went with Westpaw because I

February 04, 2011

I went with Westpaw because I am in Bozeman and wanted to support a local company. Unfortunately I spent $175 on the XL Bumper bed and my dog is just as happy sleeping on the floor. The inner pillow is lumpy and doesn't stay tucked into the surrounding bumper. I'm constantly tucking it back in. Sad to say had I known I would have gone with another product.

Puppy knows how to work the zipper

January 07, 2011

My puppy is just 6months old and had earned the right to spend the work day in the kitchen and out of his crate. Things went well on day one. No problems, on Day two the bed which we have had since he joined our family at 10 weeks was unzipped and the bumper portion filler was completely removed from the bottom. Also the pillow was unzipped but I guess he could not figure out how to get the inside out. Day three was more of the same. Day four we did a little extra work to try and keep the bumper zipped up but came home to find the zipper pull for the pillow laying on the floor. I'm just happy he did not swallow it. As far as a product goes We love it and the dog loves it. We often move it around the house so he sleeps or at least lays down and chews toys in the same room we are in. I guess I would like to see the next revision have better zipper protectors or a zipper sleeve that the metal piece can be tucked in to. Now I need to figure out how to order a new pillow so the bed can go back to being fully operational.
